Our Instructors

Our driving instructors are all certified by Alberta Transportation. You will be able to choose preferred instructor for your driving lessons. You are also allowed to choose different driving instructor for each of your driving classes. Please share your experience after finishing driver education at our driving school in Calgary or after getting your driver license.

I booked Meng for a 2-hour intensive training session followed by a road test rental. Throughout the session, Meng demonstrated confidence and a strong knowledge of road test regulations. I can see why beginner drivers would find her teaching approach to be helpful. What I think Meng lacks are patience and humility. She was ~10 minutes late to arrive at our 9 am training session. This is of course, within tolerable limits according to the Driving School rules, and I noticed that she took extra care to sanitize the seat and steering wheel. However, I would have liked it if she had at least offered an apology on the matter, rather than jumping straight into the lesson. Meng was very responsive to questions of all kinds. She answered technical questions professionally and completely, but only when they are “questions” and not “discussion items”. She didn’t seem to enjoy it too much when I had information to offer to her. She also was quite unreceptive to when I had a complaint to make. When I requested that she give me instructions for turning in a more clearly phrased manner, and with earlier timing, she skirted around the topic by changing it to a discussion about when the examiner would normally give such instructions. Showing a little humility here wouldn’t hurt anyone, would it? When someone books “intensive training” immediately before a road test, I think the logical approach for a driving instructor would be to take a more “hands-off” approach, rather than attempting to “baby” the driver. At this point, unless the trainee is EXCEPTIONALLY bad at something, I think the role of the coach should be to observe, think, and then instruct only when the appropriate assessment data has been gathered. I cannot help but feel that Meng interfered too much with my driving for the session to be as effective as it could be. Perhaps this is simply something that comes with more experience in age. Overall, I think Meng definitely has her strong points. However, I believe that a little more trust, humility and openness to feedback would add greatly to Meng’s practice, and make her a much better driving instructor. There is a fine line between confidence and arrogance - be careful not to cross it, just as carefully as one would avoid the curbside when driving.

Meng is a wonderful instructor. She was very patient and made learning to drive fun! She helped me with my fear and confidence on the road and now I drive every day and feel safe and preferred.

Meng is a very good driving instructor. She is a very detail person and she has her own goal for her student to achieve in a one-time course. I had a good experience with Meng. She is fun to talk to and friendly. I recommend Meng for any new students who want to learn how to drive.

I would like to thank Meng for her knowledge and confidence in teaching driving .she is such a sweetheart lady who is teaching driving nicely and simply . I really had a good benefit taking lessons with Meng . I highly recommend Meng as instructor she is very knowledgeable and confident . Thanks Meng
